Each year the Chinese lunar calendar celebrates one of the 12 mythical creatures of the Zodiac. It associates each animal with distinctive features and specific auspices In 2024, the Dragon, a symbol of wisdom, power, strengh and dignity, is in the spotlight. Happy Chinese New Year of the Dragon highlights this legendary figure through 41 works carefully selected from the laureates of the 2024 Global Zodiac Design Competition. Each of these captivating illustrations reflects the richness of the imagination of the inhabitants of the different countries regarding the Dragon, the only mythical animal of the Chinese Zodiac.
The exhibition is co-organised by the Embassy of China in Belgium, the Beijing Overseas Cultural Exchange Center, the China Cultural Center in Belgium, Atlas Hiseas, the China Europe International Design Culture Association and the International Carnival and Mask Museum.
