The Interpretation Centre dedicated to the Carnival of Binche invites you to discover the history of this unique tradition recognized by Unesco. Learn about its actors, its customs and its development by means of an immersive and multi-sensory experience.
This permanent exhibition, inaugurated at the end of 2018, presents the most beautiful collection items of the museum, archive images and testimonies never presented before, exclusive testimonials, old photographs, documentary films and a number of exceptional objects.

- Live the carnival year through augmented reality
In Binche, it’s Carnival all year round ! From the meetings of the « cagnottes » to the fitting of the costumes over the balls and the « soumonces », discover all the highlights through a super dynamic timeline with photograps and videos in augmented reality.
- The morning « rondeau » in virtual reality
Experience the « rondeau » (round dance) on Shrove Tuesday morning from the inside, via a 360°-video and a virtual reality headset which completely immerses you in this visually very intense moment. A unique perspective !
- Immersion – At the heart of Mardi gras
From the « bourrage » (stuffing of the Gille’s shirt with straw) to the fireworks, from the picking up of the Gilles to the evening « rondeau », immerse yourself in the magic of Mardi gras through a brand-new film which perfectly completes your visit to the Interpretation Centre.
